Sponsored by The Norwegian Barents Secretariat we created a youth exchange to build good relations with our neighbors and expand perspectives across borders. We invited our partners at an agricultural high school in Naryan-Mar, Russia to come to Bindal, Norway.
They visited Norwegian traditional cottage in a village called Velfjorden owned by the chairman of Peacepainting. Here they were able to experience traditional ways of living in Norway and also got to know people from Velfjorden who came to get acquainted.
The visit coincided with the International Worker’s Day, and our friends from Naryan-Mar joined the celebrations and also gave a great performance where they dramatized a Nenets legend.
The youth from Naryan-Mar participated at Peacepainting workshops at Terråk School.
The paintings created by the youth was then exhibited at Bindal City Hall together with paintings made all over the world.

This youth exchange laid a great foundation for our future projects in cooperation with the agricultural high school in Naryan-Mar.
