In collaboration with Kulturskolen i Brønnøy with schools in Vega, Vevelstad and Brønnøy, a large Peacepainting exhibition took place in Brønnøysund on the 17th of September. The exhibition featured paintings with accompanying poems and titles made by over 100 children from the local area and 10 paintings in Afghanistan, Syria, North Korea, Lebanon, the Philippines, Thailand, Tunisia, Poland and Russia. Deputy mayor Tore Tveråmo opened the exhibition and the local musicians Doi Doi had a performance.

“Peacepainting organizes painting workshops for children so they can express themselves through a wordless language. These activities enable a peaceful world where children can grow up the way children should grow up. So there is no doubt that Peacpainting has a strong moral compass that we can all learn from. The leader of the exhibition was Peacepainting instructor Inger-Hilde Nyrud. During May and June 2021, she held a series of Peacepainting workshops for children in the local area, (Vega, Brønnøysund and Vevelstad). The results that were displayed in this exhibition featured more than 100 paintings.

The paintings were lined up on the Harbor in Brønnøysund, and visitors received a brochure with the titles and poems related to each painting. The young participants were very excited and proud of their works, and were actively engaged in the exhibition.
5 paintings from Peacepainting Russia also participated in the exhibition. Led by Elena Nikitina, paintings created in Ekaterinburg, Russia had been shipped by mail, allowing more children to be participate with their unique voices.
