Peacepainting, Integration and Equality
Peacepainting has proven to be a very successful method for helping to process, express and communicate people’s inner world. In addition to sparking’s people’s creativity, which has a host of benefits, the Peacepainting activity also has positive social and therapeutical effects. Scientific research on the Peacepainting method established that Peacepainting helps foster extraversion, agreeability and other positive social behaviours. Perhaps less well known, is that it is a very good form of therapy for people with psychological illnesses. As part of the Peace and Equality in the North series that was held in the North of Norway this spring and summer, we held a 2-day workshop with an anonymous group of adults.
Workshops
On the 15th and 16th of June 2022, we held Peacepainting workshops in collaboration with 10 anonymous adults. These two of workshops were really wonderful, and it was a great, calm and focused atmosphere. Led by Peaceapainting instructor Laila Kolostyak. In this blog, you can see the paintings created on day 1, 15h of June 2022.
Exhibition
The paintings and messages created will be lifted during a large exhibition which will take place in Bodø2024.
Paintings Created
Day 1
Everyday Chaos
A lot is happening, but I have a guiding star.
When Someone Sees You
A warm heart in the cold.
On The Way
Something exciting is ahead of me.
The Fire
Even if you are sitting alone in the dark in the forest, you are charged with good feelings when you have a fire to warm yourself on.
Red Night
Follow the bridge over the river at night.
Sun Moon
My little son saw the moon last winter.
When the sun returned after a long time, he still called it the moon.
Face on a Trip
Heaven.
A road.
The green forest.
Then a face appeared.
Dark Night, New Day
There is light in the darkness.
When Someone Sees You
A warm heart in the cold
