Brobyggerstiftelsen, (Bridge Builders Foundation) runs a center for street children in Manila and invited Peacepainting to collaborate with the University of Manila. Their main areas of work are crises and natural disasters in The Philippines. University of Manila wanted to teach our method to their students as it focuses on the positive, life-seeking traits instead of traumatic events in people, and together with Bridge Builders Foundation, we were able to conduct workshops with disadvantaged children in Manila.
We also cooperated with the National Police and the Army in the Philippines for this project.
The first workshops were held with street children in collaboration with the Brobyggerstiftelsen, (Bridge Builders Foundation) and additional workshops with street children arranged by the National Police in the Philippines.
In cooperation with the University of Manila, we also held instuctor courses for students who later will be able to use our method with disadvantaged children in Manila.
The paintings created by the street children were exhibited at the National Police Headquarters in Manila and the Air Force Headquarters in Manila.
The whole project provided fertile ground for future cooperation with both The University of Manila, The National Police and The Army.
