Peacepainting recently had a meeting with Helgeland Regional Council at the premises of The Brønnøysund Register Centre.
About Helgeland Regional Council
Helgeland Regional Council, (Helgelandsrådet) is a council involving 12 municipalities on Helgeland in Norway with the objective of increasing cooperation between the municipalities in the region and through this contribute to creating a common identity on Helgeland. Apart from being a political actor with a regional perspective, it is also an active driving force with emphasis on regional social development, and a link between politics, business, and other regional and state governing bodies.
Peacepainting and Helgeland Regional Council
At Helgeland Regional Council’s most recent meeting, Peacepainting presented our equality project as well as plans to build Peacepainting Center on the coast of Helgeland, more specifically in Bindal Municipality. We were grateful for this invite, and by participating at the council we also had the opportunity to experience the positive spirit of cooperation between the members of the council. In 2022, it is planned that Peacepainting will organize a workshop at one of the council’s meetings, which will deepen the council’s understanding of the work and method.
When Peacepainting Center is completed, we hope that Helgeland Regional Council will hold some of their meetings there as well, and thus help raising the idea of equality in a natural way.
