On September 15, we organized a Peacepainting workshop at Fellesverket in Sandvika, Oslo, a youth project under the Red Cross. This is part of a collaboration we have with the Norwegian Red Cross, where our teams have come together to organize a series of Peacepainting workshops in various Fellesverket institutions throughout the country.
About Fellesverket Sandvika
Fellesverket a central gathering place for the youth in Sandvika, providing a safe and creative environment where young people can express themselves.
About Sandvika
Sandvika is a part the larger Oslo region with a rich history. Located in Bærum, its history is rooted in its abundant fisheries and the prosperous Sandvikselven river, that used to have an abundance of salmon and trout. These natural resources played a vital role in the town's early settlement and economic development in the 1600-1700s. Today the city is known for its cultural wealth and has a wonderful mix of modern conveniences and traditional charm.
Peacepainting Workshop at Fellesverket, Sandvika
At the Fellesverket Peacepainting workshop, many young people living in Sandvika, but originating from different countries, participated. This created a positive atmosphere where the youth could come together and express themselves through art, while forming bonds with each other and collectively sharing their insights of the various art pieces that were created.
The instructors for the Peacepainting session were Catrine Gangstø and Rune Beyer. During the session, Rune took photos with each participant and a globe, illustrating what part of the world they came from.
